Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By opening a GoldBod account, buying, holding, transferring or redeeming GOLD tokens, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable Ghanaian laws and regulations. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding contracts. You must not be a resident of any jurisdiction subject to comprehensive sanctions by the UN, EU, US OFAC or ECOWAS. Corporate clients must be duly incorporated and authorised to enter into these terms.

3. KYC and ongoing monitoring

You agree to provide accurate identity information and consent to ongoing sanctions screening and transaction monitoring. GoldBod reserves the right to suspend accounts pending verification, freeze tokens subject to a regulatory order, and report suspicious activity to the Ghana Financial Intelligence Centre.

4. Token ownership

Each GOLD token represents a pro-rata legal ownership claim on the underlying physical gold held in GoldBod vaults. Tokens are transferable only between verified GoldBod accounts. The protocol does not currently support transfers to unhosted external wallets, though this functionality is planned for Q4 2026.

5. Fees

  • Purchase: 0.5% above spot (waived for first $1,000 of purchases)
  • Sale/redemption: 1.0% below spot
  • Transfer between GoldBod accounts: Free
  • Block trades (>100 GOLD): Negotiable, typically 0.25%
  • Custody: 0.12% per annum, charged monthly in GOLD
  • Physical delivery: $50 (vault pickup) or $200 + insurance (insured delivery)

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoldBod's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the USD value of the GOLD tokens in your account at the time of the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 10,000. GoldBod is not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages.
